The Intransa IP2000 is offered in a 3U rack-mountable shelf with the ability to scale to 6TB of raw storage capacity. The system combines DAS and SAN functionality within the same box via
iSCSI host connectivity. Multiple RAID policies (0,1, 5, 10) can be provisioned simultaneously, allowing unheralded end-user flexibility. The IP2000 is highly scalable. It can be used standalone, or when expansion beyond 6TB is desired, multiple IP2000s can be simply integrated with the addition of one or two controllers (IP2300, IP2500). In this configuration, larger logical volumes can be created that span multiple arrays. Higher performance can also be achieved by striping across multiple IP2000 arrays.
The system offers High Availability features such as active-active fail-over capability, 72-hour battery-backed cache protection, dual-ported disk drives as well as full redundancy and serviceability for controllers, power supplies, fans and hard drives. Every component is hot-swappable without interruption in service or loss of data. Its sophisticated mirrored and battery backed-cache and path fail-over capabilities give the IP2000 best-in-class system fault tolerance. The robust mid-plane has been designed to be fully passive with no active components that could risk a system failure. The system offers snapshot capabilities to enable point-in-time copies for backup and restore, a full set of RAID configurations, RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 and offers a full suite of storage provisioning and security features.
Intransa is committed to developing storage arrays that reduce administrative complexity and management costs. IP2000 comes with powerful remote management software that dramatically simplifies setup and monitoring of storage volumes. The robust self-monitoring technology and automatic notification service maximizes storage availability while minimizing the pressure on system administrators. In the event of a hardware failure, IP2000 can automatically notify administrators via email. The user interface also provides monitoring for each hardware module. The log information is kept in the persistent memory, which can be recovered after reboot. For remote diagnostics, administrators can easily transfer the log to an email that can be sent to customer service with a simple click of a mouse.
